about

Afro pick funk for your body!!!
This song captures the exuberance of three 20 something friends in full freeform expression. This was recorded around the fall of 2000 and at this time we had taken to calling ourselves the African Space Program, catching the vibe of the Dollar Brand Album of the same name. We recorded a number of tunes under this name and even lent it to comrade Magi Baba for the radioshow of the same name. Alas we moved on as time tends to do. Obviously some years later the good Brother Ras G would take this name to soaring heights.

This song came together as pure magic, I cooked up the rhythms and my besties provided their vibes on the spot. Styling!
